Father and husband, aviator and railroad fanatic, lover of books and learning, pundit and punster, builder and handyman, community builder and educator, frugal and wise. Steve's legacy is the people whose lives he made better.
He dedicated his 50-year career to improving the education and the lives of vulnerable youth as a teacher, counselor, administrator, and evaluator for the Santa Clara County Office of Education.
He volunteered countless hours to his community as the President and Water Operator of his locally-owned non-profit water system.
He spent much of the rest of his time passing on his passions and values to his kids, who he loved more than anything.
He loved Joan, his wife of 59 years, dearly, as well as his two sons, Eric and Evan, their wives Michelle and Lauren, and his four amazing grandsons, Logan, Elan, Caleb and Benji. He will be greatly missed.
