Sidney Robert Weissman passed away peacefully on July 31, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley, his daughter Stacy, his step daughters Laura and Leslie, his grandchildren Sheron, Rachel, Ariel and Nathan, his sisters Barbara and Arlene and his brother Jerry. He was preceded in death by his first wife Sharon, his brother Victor, and his daughter Julie.
Robert, as he was known to almost everyone was born in Wheeling West Virginia and was a life-long fan of everything Mountaineers, the mascot of his alma mater, the University of West Virginia. After graduating with an engineering degree from UWV Robert moved out to California where he worked for the Public Utilities Commission for the State of California for over 50 years. He was very popular with his co-workers as well as his supervisors who regularly sought him out for special projects.
Robert loved to travel, listen to music, and drink fine wine. He even got a second job at a wine store so he could learn more about wine. He also liked to tinker with old cars. He restored a '64 Chevy to prime condition. He was also an accomplished craftsman who turned old furniture into beautiful works of art. But his love of family was first and foremost for Robert. His favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
A gentle soul, with a giant heart who was both humble and compassionate he will be sorely missed.
