Joyce Ruth Share passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021. She was 87.
Joyce always put family first. She outlived but never stopped loving her parents, Eli and Mary Finkelstein, her older brother, Mel Elliot, and her beloved husband of 59 years, Irving Share.
She is survived by her devoted children: daughters Pam Slater (husband Darren) and Elizabeth Share (husband Paul McLaughlin), and her son, Eric Share. Her grandsons, Nick Boyer, Sam McLaughlin and Ryan McLaughlin, were the light of her life. The family is indebted to Joyce's nephew Gene Elliot and his wife Patty for their generosity, love and attentive care.
To know Joyce was to love her. She was sweet, sunny, smart, beautiful and gracious. She made friends easily and kept them for life. Joyce loved working as an aide at Baywood Elementary School and serving as the board chair of Temple Beth El, both in San Mateo, California. She also cherished the time she spent working as a board member of Sinai Memorial Chapel, a Jewish funeral home in San Francisco, where, under the leadership of Samuel J. Salkin, she contributed to the creation of "The Memory Garden," a rare contemplative space, encircled by Redwood trees, for families grieving the deaths of infants, stillborns, and miscarriages.
Joyce will be greatly missed and always in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, please honor Joyce with gifts to the perpetual care fund for The Memory Garden.
