Blessed is the True Judge - It's with a heavy heart that I inform you of the untimely passing of Howard D. Feiner, long-standing SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPEL CHEVRA KADISHA Shomer and friend. Howard was a valued and thoughtful team member with a heart of gold, a commitment to learning and Yiddishkeit, and many quirks. He was both a guardian of the deceased and tradition at SINAI.. In his essay in Reflections on Jewish Death and Mourning, Howard wrote, "I watch the soul. I don't understand exactly what that is. I try to breathe life into a person after they've died. I learn a lot as a Shomer, and I have become more sensitve too. It's a humbling experience. Giving back to the community in this way had broadened and deepened me. Taking care of the dead is an important mitzvah. It's really an honor." Howard is survived by his wife, Carol, and son, Jason.
