Diane Roth Ehrman was born to Marion and Lester Roth in San Francisco, the youngest to sisters Leslie R. Appleton and Marion R. Oppenheimer. She attended Presidio Open Air School, graduate of Grant Elementary School, Lowell High School, and Stanford University. She also earned a certificate from the Zweegman School for Medical Secretaries. Locally Diane worked in the medical private practice community and at Mt. Zion Hospital, followed by relocating to New York with additional employment in the medical profession.
Diane was first married in 1956 to New York resident Harvey M. Steiner. They relocated to San Francisco in 1963 where Mr. Steiner passed away in 1966. In 1969 Diane married San Francisco native Joseph Ehrman III who passed away in 2021. Diane often said that she was "lucky twice." She was an active volunteer in many local organizations.
Diane was a devoted aunt to Robert O. Appleton, Jr. of St. Louis, Michael R. Appleton of Oakland, Diane E. Appleton of Palo Alto and Elisabeth C. Oppenheimer of Zurich, Switzerland, and their spouses along with their descendants.
Diane was thankful for the devoted service from all her care givers.
