Helene Fried, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2017.
Born on April 15, 1933 in Brooklyn, Helene grew up in Nyack, New York. She later graduated from Cornell University where she received a degree in biochemistry and met her husband John. Helene and John moved to Palo Alto in 1964, where they lived for 31 years, before moving to Atherton.
Helene loved children and was fond of biking, swimming, and gardening. She enjoyed traveling throughout North America, Europe, and Asia with her husband and family, as well as exploring places such as Alaska, the Panama Canal, the Bahamas and Hawaii by cruise ship.
A mother of three, she is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John; children David, Linda and Debbie; their spouses Wendy, Jeff and Danny; and seven grandchildren Benjamin and Jenny, Jessica and Rebecca, and Alexander, Andrew and Lauren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Congregation Beth Am, 26790 Arastradero Rd., Los Altos Hills, CA.
